Yes, there are the hits, and the crowd, and the passion.
But every single year there are exciting surprise teams, too.
Mount Union was one of those squads in 2013.
But after a turn around from 2-8 to playoff bound, there's no sneaking up on anyone this year.
A new face will lead the Trojans.
Matt Young is the team's fifth head coach in as many seasons.
But a lot of the weapons remain the same, including quarterback Trevon Walker and speedy receiver B.J. Loner.
"Strong with those guys, but there's definitely some holes we've gotta replace and get some kids to step up,” Young says. “We'll see. They're high school kids and if we stay healthy. That's the other big thing."
"This team's been together since pee wee, we just have a special bond,” senior linebacker Austin Low says. We've all been together the whole way up through and this is our senior year. I think we're going to do the best we've ever done."
The Trojans don't waste any time getting into their top rivalry, opening the year with Huntingdon.
