The Rangers started slow on offense, settling for a punt after a 3-and-out first series. Things quickly took a turn for the better, as The Rangers were able to pounce a mishandled punt at the Marauders’ 26-yard line. The Rangers needed just one play to capitalize on the turnover, as QB Joe Donoughe connected with Shareef Blough on for the passing TD. Jeff Leach added the extra point and Forest Hills had a quick 7-0 lead.
Bishop Guilfoyle was unfazed, putting together a scoring drive of their own to tie the game at 7.
Forest Hills stalled again on their second possession and was forced to punt. With the Marauders threatening, Donoughe jumped in front a Marauder receiver for an interception, which he then took 72 yards for a Rangers’ TD. Another extra point put The Rangers up in the contest, 14-7; however this was the last bright spot on the evening for the Rangers.
BG controlled the game from this point on, recording many big plays, which eventually led to a final score of 40-14 in favor of the Marauders.
The Forest Hills Rangers (2-2) look to bounce back on Friday (9/27), as they host the Cambria Heights Highlanders (1-3) for Homecoming.
