Spikes Already Have Chemistry

STATE COLLEGE, Pa - The Spikes opener is Monday night.

They'll begin their New York-Penn League title defense as they welcome in Williamsport.

Fans can expect to see a handful of familiar names on the opening day roster who were members of that championship winning squad in 2016.

So already having built some good chemistry last season, along with extended spring training means these guys feel very comfortable heading into the season.

"We have some guys returning from last year so that's nice. With a new manager here, being in extended through this spring, it really helped us come together. Since all three rookie balls won last year for the Cardinals, we all kinda know that feeling of being a champion and winning. So it's nice to have us all together, bring us together as one and hopefully we can do it again here in State College," says outfielder Mick Fennell.
