LORETTO, CAMBRIA COUNTY – Saint Francis offensive lineman Thurston Kino has been named an FCS First Team All-American by USA Football Network. Linebacker Bishop Neal and defensive back Lorenzo Jerome were Second Team selections.
Kino, a fifth-year senior, started every game for the Flash in each of the past two seasons. He was named to both the Preseason All-NEC Team and the All-NEC First Team. The Red Flash finished third in the conference in rushing yards per game, averaging 167.5 yards. Kino was also an All-NEC Second Team selection in 2012 as the Red Flash led the conference in rushing.
Neal was All-NEC Second Team as a junior in 2013. He led the team with 79 tackles with 45 solo stops. Neal recorded 16.5 tackles for loss and four sacks while posting a season-high 12 tackles against Fordham. That performance earned him the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) National Defensive Player of the Week award. Neal has also been named to the CFPA Linebacker Award watch list for the 2014 season.
Jerome burst on the scene as a freshman, tying for third in the nation with six interceptions on his way to being named NEC Defensive Rookie of the Year. He also tied for the NEC lead in interceptions per game, amassing his total in 11 games. Jerome is on the CFPA Defensive Back Award watch list.
