This is particularly special for him since he grew up a Raiders fan since his uncle played with them for 13 years and is now an assistant offensive line coach there. I was able to catch up with him and get the scoop on his whirlwind weekend.
After Wisniewski was drafted on Friday, he did interviews and celebrated with friends and family who had gathered with him at his home in Pennsylvania. Then he took an early morning flight to Oakland just for the day for his formal news conference and introduction. He toured the facility, which he loved along with the area and organization, loaded up on Raiders gear, and met with coaches. He then took the red-eye back to State College where he barely got any sleep before I met with him on Sunday afternoon.
I was very thankful for his time, especially since he was so exhausted, but I was excited to be the first media outlet in State College to meet with him in person since he was the first Nittany Lion taken in this year's NFL Draft.
