STATE COLLEGE - The funeral procession for Joe Paterno snaked through the streets of State College Wednesday, following his funeral at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the Penn State campus. Thousands of people lined the streets to pay tribute to the coach as the procession wound its way past Beaver Stadium and other spots on campus, on the way to a private burial service. Paterno died Sunday of lung cancer, and fans have been paying tribute to the coach in a variety of ways since then. The Paterno Statue at Beaver Stadium is adorned with flowers, notes and other items left by fans. An estimated 27,000 people also stood in long lines Tuesday and Wednesday for the public viewing of Paterno's casket. A public memorial service will take place Thursday afternoon at the Bryce Jordan Center.
