Penn State football is on the ground in Ireland.

James Franklin and the Nittany Lions got practice number one on the emerald isle out of the way today.

Franklin refuses to use the word tired, even after his team has flown all the way across the Atlantic.

“My legs feel fine, even after the long plane ride. I'm just ready to come out here for practice tomorrow and get ready for Saturday,” Jordan Lucas said.

For many of the players, this journey is their first time flying outside of North America.

You can count tackle Donovan Smith in that number.

He said the accommodations matched his large size.

“This plane was humungous. It was ridiculous how big this plane was. And it was extremely comfortable, too. Even for a guy my size.”

Saturday's opener in the Croke Park Classic is now just three days away for Penn State as they face the University of Central Florida.
