The players seemed to all think that Oak Hill is one of the toughest courses that they have ever played. Phil Mickelson said that you can make easy birdies on the easy holes, but the hard holes make it very difficult to save par. Tiger said that Oak Hill is one of the toughest, but fairest courses that he has ever played.
Tiger Woods was a little critical on how slow the greens were when he played a practice round at Oak Hill last Tuesday, but he said they have been sped up for this week, as expected. They have reached 11.5 on the stimpmeter, which is the measuring tool used to judge the speed of the greens. He believes that they will speed up even more before Thursday, and says that they play well for his game during the week.
Tiger tees off the 10th tee at 8:35 am with Keegan Bradley and Davis Love III on Thursday, and Mickelson is paired with Justin Rose and Adam Scott at 1:35 pm off the 1st tee.
