ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY – Pirates fans are excited as the Buccos are set to host the NL Wild Card game against the Cincinnati Reds at PNC Park Tuesday evening, holding a rally in Pittsburgh Monday.

Since 1999, 111 Altoona Curve players have gone on to play in the majors. Many of the players wearing black and gold Tuesday evening have spent time in Altoona.

“It's been really cool for the organization and I think it's another testament to the fans that come out here on a day-in day-out basis,” said Mike Passanisi, Curve Director of Communications. “You are going to see people that are going to play in Pittsburgh and it's all coming to fruition. Hopefully it's not just one game, it's the start of a longer run for this Pittsburgh club.”

Fans have been encouraged to wear their black and gold for the game Tuesday evening.
