Do you give free estimates?
We are more than happy to look at your damage free of charge. However, the complexities of today's vehicles do not allow for a visual estimate alone to be accurate as in the past.
Do I have to accept aftermarket/generic parts that the insurance company wants to pay for?
We are seeing insurers changing the policy offered to consumers. It now specifically states they are only obligated to use aftermarket along with junkyard parts. If your policy does not define this, you are not obligated to accept inferior parts to be used on your vehicle. Be cautious of your policy, insurance company and agent. Go to our insurance ranking page on our web-site then decide.
Do I have to use the insurance company's contracted or Direct Repair (DRP) shops for our repairs?
Absolutely not. It is PA state law that you are able to choose the repair shop of your choice. Insurers have made deals with body shops to cut corners to save themselves money, but in turn it causes the value of your vehicle to diminish. They have created a lot of dialog to try to scare people out of using anyone other than their contracted shops. Use your common sense, it is your vehicle and it is your choice. Do not be bullied into using second rate shops for repairs.
How should I make a decision on what agent and insurance companies to use?
All insurance companies and agents are not created equal. If either one can save money by eliminating coverage on your policy, or denying part of your claim, it causes both of them to profit by short changing you. You have to be asking your agent and insurance company the right questions prior to purchasing a policy from them. Go to ProfessionalsAutoBody.com, print our insurance policy checklist, and use it to make sure you get the best deal possible.
Do I have to pay anything other than the deductable for my repairs? No, as long as the policy you have with the insurance company does not have specifically hidden fees or costs you would be obligated to.
