Altoona, Blair County - An Altoona man is facing charges after police say he brutally assaulted a woman.
Officials say Steven Snowden shoved that woman to the ground on Wednesday night and began hitting her head against the pavement until she lost consciousness.
That woman's teenage son saw what was happening, and charged at Snowden, tackling him into a nearby alley and causing him to flee.
When police arrived on scene, they reported that the woman was covered in blood, coming in and out of consciousness, convulsing, and vomiting.
She was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries.
That's when officers began their search for Snowden.They found him at the Northwestern Human Services Autism School on 8th Avenue, trying to hide from investigators.
He was arrested and is now facing multiple charges including aggravated assault.
