Thursday, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approved a 1.3 million dollar settlement against West Penn Power company.

It services customers in Centre, Elk and Clearfield counties in our region.
The company failed to meet required energy reduction standards. The company must pay the civil penalty within 30 days, and cannot get the money back from a rate hike. The money will go into the state's general fund.
