ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - A local mayor is taking to the streets to talk about crime prevention.

Altoona Mayor Bill Schirf is going to walk through all 14 wards and 26 neighborhoods starting Friday morning. A recent report says crime is down between 1999 and 2010.

Schirf's going to stop and talk to residents and business owners on his walk against crime. He plans to ask them to look out for their neighbors and their community.

He thinks it will take 12 to 17 hours for him to hit all the neighborhoods.
