Veteran Job fair to be held in Clearfield County

Clearfield, Clearfield County, Pa. - A veteran expo will be held in Clearfield, to help veterans adjust to life outside of the military.

The Clearfield County Veterans Affairs Office it's holding their first ever expo and job fair. It's open to all military members and their families.

There will be dozens of vendors looking to hire veterans or to further their career. The expo will also have employers and colleges to help vets find the right fit- to help them integrate back into the civilian lifestyle. Organizers say veterans have many skills that will allow them to stand out to employers.

"Being on time, team work, working alone, a variable of schedules. Anything like that, that they've done in the military, they can do in the civilian world," explains Pa Veteran Employment Representative, Gene Young.

This is the first expo of it's kind for the county. Organizers  say it's a great way to help those from active duty get back on track.

"It's all about veterans knowing these resources exist, if they don't know they exist then they can't use them. Veterans that are coming home right now from active duties or overseas they can lost in the shuffle sometimes," explains Clearfield County Director Of Veteran's Affairs Office Betina Niklas.

It will be held Tuesday October 17th from nine until five o'clock at the Clearfield County fair grounds in the Expo one building.

If you're and employer or college and interested in becoming a vendor, please call  the Clearfield County Veteran's Affairs Office (814)-765-4611
