Health and nutritional experts were at the 2nd Diabetes Day to offer tips to people who have diabetes or people that care for someone with the disease.
There was a presentation on signs and symptoms of diabetes and a cooking demonstration.
We caught up with a UPMC Diabetes Nurse Educator who says it's important that people are informered about diabetes if they have it or are caring for someone with it.
"You know, you see your doctor several times a year, but everyday you have to life with it. So everyday you're responsible for the management for the disease process," said Patricia Rose.
