Beginning January 7th, passengers will be able to fly from University Park Airport to Chicago's O'Hare Airport nonstop.
The process took 3-5 years to complete, and the route will provide two United Airlines flights daily to and from Chicago. Round trip tickets cost around $350 and the planes on the route will have 50 seats.
The airport expects business travelers, international students and fans of Big Ten sporting events to be the biggest customers.
University Park Airport is now working on getting flights to Atlanta, Charlotte and Newark.
