ANTIS TWP., BLAIR COUNTY - State Police said a tractor trailer crash was caused by the truck hitting a PennDOT truck while trying to pass it.

56-year-old George Richter was injured after the tractor trailer hit the PennDOT dump truck, skidded and slid sideways and hit a guide rail before it went over the 30 foot embankment.

The crash happened between the Bellwood and Tipton exits just after 4:00 am Friday.

State Police said Richter suffered moderate injuries and will be cited.  The driver of the state truck, 53-year-old Robert Monahan, was not injured.
