YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA - We've all heard epic stories of high school kids asking famous actors or actresses to go to prom with them.

Well one Pennsylvania senior not only didn't get the answer he hoped for, he also got suspended.

18-year-old Patrick Farves says he received three days of in-school suspension after asking Miss America, Nina Davuluri, to the prom during her appearance at Central York High School.

Farves asked the question following Davuluri's talk about diversity.

He then brought her a flower and other students cheered.

After Farves interrupted her presentation he was escorted out.

Patrick says school officials heard about his plan in advance and warned him not to do it.

After the incident, Favres said, "I feel like when I did go up and do that, most of the attention was directed to me.
And people were still laughing and tweeting about it, it did overshadow her message."
