BROAD TOP TOWNSHIP, BEDFORD COUNTY – Emergency crews were called to a single-vehicle accident Friday morning after an SUV went into a drainage pond.

Authorities say a Six Mile Run area man driving a 1999 Kia Sportage left the road around 8 a.m. and landed in a Broad Top Township acid mine drainage pond.

Six Mile Run Volunteer Fire Company, along with Broad Top Township employees and Dave’s Towing Service near Everett, assisted State Police at the scene.

The name and condition of the driver have not been released.
