BIGLER, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Curtis Thompson, a fourth grader at Bradford Elementary, knew his school would soon be closing. The district has decided to consolidate sending all students and staff to the renovated Clearfield Area Elementary School. It is about 25 minutes away from Bigler and Thompson worried kids would not have access to books, close to home.

So, he and his mom spent 7 months building the little free library outside of the of the Bigler YMCA. There people can donate books, take a few and/or trade.

His teacher says it's a wonderful way to keep kids interested in books and many kids ride their bikes or walk to the Y.
