It's evolved over the last 30 years, but the theatre's roots as a farm are apparent today. Seating and the "Alley Stage" have been added, creating the intimate environment audiences have come to love. Small theaters like Cresson Lake are even having an influence on Broadway productions.
Productions including the recent "High School Musical," run from May through December. A children's show starts the season off, four main stage productions run in the summer, there's a fall production and a holiday show that runs in connection with the Dicken's of a Christmas activities in Ebensburg. Cresson Lake is a non-profit organization that has springboarded dozens of careers. With shows running for 15 performances in little more than two weeks, aspiring actors and directors get first hand experience with the busy schedules of major production companies.
