HARRISBURG, PA - Texting and talking on your cell while driving may also soon be banned as well.

The senate transportation committee passed a bill that would ban hand-held cell phone use or texting while driving.

The senate bill would ban handheld cell phone use for everyone, regardless of age.

Hands-free cell phone use would still be allowed.

The bill would also boost passenger restrictions for teen drivers.

The bill is now on its way to the full senate for consideration.
