Corbett orders flags lowered to honor fallen firefighter

HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY – Governor Corbett has ordered all Pennsylvania flags be flown at half-staff at the Capitol Complex and at Commonwealth facilities in Westmoreland County in honor of a firefighter killed while searching for a missing woman.

Edwin “Lance” Wentzel was killed Saturday evening in Allegheny County when he was struck and killed by a train while searching for a missing woman.

Pennsylvania flags shall remain lowered until sunset on Thursday, March 27, the day of Wentzel’s interment. 

All Pennsylvanians are invited to join in this tribute.
