Standoff Ends Peacefully

SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY - After more than six hours State Police say a standoff along Greenwich Road in Susquehanna Township, Cambria County ended peacefully.
Police say Richard Goss Sr. surrendered peacefully after 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to the home along around 8:15am.
They say Goss’ girlfriend came home from work to find him locked in a back room in the home.
State Police say he did have access to weapons.
The State Police SERT team was brought in and was able to take Goss into custody.
Surrounding homes were evacuated as police created a perimeter, but they say there was no threat to the public.
“We are doing our best to ensure the safety of the community. As one of the precautions we took some of the neighbors here in the immediate area were evacuated immediately,” Tropper John Matchik, Pennsylvania State Police
Goss was taken to the State Police barracks in Ebensburg where charges are expected to be filed.
