BREEZEWOOD, BEDFORD COUNTY - Hundred of soldiers on their way back from training made a pit stop in our region.
The National Guardsmen have been training in the woods of Virginia for 11 days and Thursday night they're relaxing in Bedford County.

Staff Sergeant Jason Wylie and about 400 other soldiers spent the night relaxing at the Breezewood Proving Grounds. Wylie's never been here before, but it was on his list because he’s a fan of motocross.

His commanding officer Lt. Col. Jim Fritschi said it's a welcome rest for all of the soldiers and it felt like home when they drove in the campground.

Owner Dan Harris has hosted several big groups at the Proving Grounds before, but this is the first time hosting the National Guard and he says they like showing their appreciation for the troops.

The soldiers were got a home -cooked meal, many of them were going for a swim and listening to music. But for Staff Sergeant Wylie, it was all about the motocross.
