PUNXSUTAWNEY, JEFFERSON COUNTY - At a Punxsutawney Borough meeting an ordinance to ban tobacco use from public parks and playgrounds was brought forth.

The ban would include Barclay Square in the middle of Punxsutawney.

The mayor, Jim Werhle, vetoed the ban, but not before it caused controversy.

Some people say their should be a compromise and a smoking space should be designated in parks.

Others say they don't want smoke around their kids and do not want their kids to even see people smoking.

Other people say it is air and smokers have the right to smoke outside!
