DUBOIS, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - The 24th Annual Ride for A New Life is Saturday August 9. Money raised goes to the NICU unit of Penn Highlands DuBois.

Over the last 23 years, the ride has raised $260,000 that in turn is used for training, equipment and technological improvements that save the lives of premature babies.

Nearly a half a million babies are born premature each year. While there are risk factors, there is no solid explanation of why. Doctors say much of their focus is on treating the babies rather than finding the cause.

Registration for the ride is from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the DuBois American Legion. The ride takes off at 12:30 and is $15 a rider of $20 for registration and a t-shirt.
