PSU Settles 26 claims for $59.7 million

UNIVERSITY PARK- According to a Penn State University news release, PSU has reached an agreement with 26 victims of Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State Defensive Coordinator later found guilty of at least 45 counts related to child sex abuse.

"The aggregate dollar amount paid by the University for the 26 settled claims is $59.7 million," reads the PSU news release. "It will be reflected in the University's audited financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2013."

PSU rejected six claims from victims according to the release, but isn 't closing the door on other possible settlement discussions.
