ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Pennsylvania lawmakers are trying to help veterans and their families get used to civilian life.

Senate Democrats unveiled their Saluting Veterans bill package Tuesday. They hope it will promote veterans education, housing, and jobs. It would also provide money, counseling, and relief for their families.

Lawmakers think it will have universal support because lawmakers on both sides of the aisle respect and appreciate the work veterans have done.

They estimate the cost of the plan will be about 61 million dollars.
