Rockefeller Center Christmas tree picked from central PA

State College, Centre County, Pa. -  The giant tree at the center of one of the largest and most famous Christmas celebrations will be coming from our region. 

Rockefeller Center revealed Monday that the 2017 Christmas tree will come from State College. 

The Norway Spruce will be cut on Thursday, November 9th and arrive at Rockefeller Center on Saturday, November 11th.

After being wrapped with more than 50,000 multi-colored, LED lights and crowned with a Swarovski star, the tree will be lit during the live broadcast “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” on Wednesday, November 29th. The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will be on display until Sunday, January 7th, 2018.
