SOMERSET COUNTY -- Prime contractor New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc. will begin milling on Route 219 from the end of the four-lane to the Garrett Shortcut, on Wednesday, May 19. Once the milling is completed the contractor will pave within a day or two, weather permitting.
Traffic will be flag person controlled during daylight hours. Minor delays may be possible.
This work is part of an overall $1.5 million project along approximately seven miles of Route 160, 219, and Route 2033 in Stonycreek, Somerset and Brothers Valley Townships, Somerset County that will take place on two locations of Route 160 from the Stony Creek Bridge to Route 1004 and from Route 2030 to Berlin Borough. On Route 219 work will take place from the Route 219 Interchange to Route 2031 (Garrett Shortcut) and on Route 2033 from Route 2030 (Main Street) to Shady Lane.
The work will consist of milling, base repairs, and paving with some ADA curb ramp upgrades taking place in Berlin Borough.
