ALTOONA - Local experts met Wednesday to discuss how to better assist people with disabilities during a disaster.
The Center for Independent Living South Central PA and Blair County Emergency Management put on the event the groups are looking at ways to identify unique.
“Those people are very vulnerable, not only to the threat of a disaster and if they're going to be affected they are clueless at how to react to that instinct,” Dan Boyles, Blair County EMA Director says.
The groups hope to create a database that would register all people with disabilities through the 911 Center to alert first responders in the event of an emergency.
