HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY – State Rep. Gary Haluska (D – Cambria) announced Tuesday he will not seek another term in November.

In a statement, Rep. Haluska said the state’s redistricting plan would put four sets of Democrats against each other, including himself and Rep. Frank Burns for the new 72nd District comprising much of Cambria County.

“I had already been thinking of retiring from public life, and now I see no better time to do so,” said Haluska in his statement. “Therefore, my current term will end on November 30, 2014.

“Again, thanks to all who supported and voted for me over the years.”

Haluska was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1994.
