Recycling Options Offered for Christmas Wrapping

ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Starting Thursday, you can drop off all your gift packaging at the Logan Valley Mall thanks to a local environmental group.

The Blair County Intermunicipal Relations Committee is asking people to recycle Christmas lights, bags, and all that wrapping paper. You can drop the lights off at several Blair County hardware stores and municipal buildings.

Lights will be accepted at the following locations:
  • IRC Recycling & Compost Facility - Blacksnake Road, Dysart,
  • City Hall offices - 12th Street, Altoona,
  • Leydig True Value Hardware - Bedford Street, Hollidaysburg,
  • Logan Township Municipal Building - Chief Logan Circle, Altoona,
  • Helsel Hardware - Plank Road, Altoona,
  • Ace-Fix-It Hardware - Logan Avenue, Tyrone,
  • Roaring Spring Department Store - Rt. 36, Roaring Spring,
  • Duncansville Borough Building - 3rd Avenue, Duncansville,
  • Long's Outpost - Cove Mountain Road, Martinsburg
You can recycle your paper gift wrapping, gift boxes, cardboard and plastic bags and film at the Logan Valley Mall from December 26 through December 28 from 10:00 a.m. To 5:00 p.m.
