ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - The Paterno Memorial Service was closely watched on the Campus of Penn State Altoona.  While classes went on across the Altoona Campus Thursday afternoon, the University did make accommodations for students to gather for the Paterno memorial service.

The opportunity was appreciated by many of those who took part. Those students were able to gather the Misciagna Theatre  and the Slep Student Center. The Memorial Service also played on video monitors across the campus.

A couple of dozen students responded by gathering in the public areas for the early afternoon Memorial Service. While the crowd was small for the on campus viewing, those who did attend said they felt like they were part of the Memorial Service  by gathering with fellow Penn Staters.

Many of those closely watching the Memorial Service on the Altoona Campus said they would have preferred to be at the Bryce Jordan Memorial   But as long as they were able to view the proceedings with other members of the University Community, they felt part of the proceedings.
