JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- A Johnstown Priest was robbed at knifepoint.

Monsignor Raymond Balta had a knock on his door Friday night.  When he answered he was confronted by a man with a knife demanding money.

“There was a gentleman in a ski mask holding a butcher knife,” said Balta.  “He said give me all of your money.”

Balta said he reached in his pocket and gave him what he had, but it apparently wasn’t enough.

“I thought after I gave him the money he would run away, but he didn’t,” said Balta.  “He said he wanted all of my money, but I didn’t have anymore to give that’s when the scuffle started.”

The knife cut monsignors right hand and the robber ran away.  Balta had to get 15 stitches.  He says his door has always been open and despite everything it still will.

“I know the good Lord was watching over me on this one,” said Balta.

Johnstown Police continue to follow leads, anyone who may have seen anything is asked to call them.
