HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY – State Police will accept unwanted, expired and unused prescription drugs Saturday, October 26th as part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

The anonymous, free service is done in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Agency to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal. The program also aims to reduce the introduction of medications into the environment, including water supplies and fish habitats.

The sixth Drug Take-Back Day last April resulted in nearly 750,000 pounds of unwanted or expired medications at more than 5,800 sites across the country.
