Police investigating assault at fraternity

STATE COLLEGE – State College Police are investigating an assault at the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity in the early hours of July 18th.

Police say between midnight and 2 a.m. the 19-year-old victim living at the house at 500 South Allen Street asked a group of people to leave the property. It was at that point an unknown male in the group punched the victim in the face and knocked him to the ground.

The victim was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center and later transferred to Hershey Medical Center with significant head trauma.

Police are looking for any information pertaining to the larger group outside or any witnesses to the assault. Anyone with information is asked to contact State College Police at 814-234-7150, or submit an anonymous tip at the link above.
