Police identify suspect in Wal-Mart assault

SOMERSET, SOMERSET COUNTY – State Police say the man they suspect of inappropriately touching a 14-year-old boy at a local Wal-Mart is dead.

According to State Police 38-year-old Joseph Deem of Brothersvalley Township caused a self-inflicted wound when they attempted to question him Sunday morning.

Police say Deem touched the boy on three separate occasions near the electronics section of the Wal-Mart on Center Avenue in Somerset Township the evening of March 7th.

Police have closed the case.
