Police assault suspect headed for trial

Somerset, Somerset County, Pa. - A Johnstown man will go to trial after allegedly attacking a police officer in Somerset County.

According to the Tribune Democrat, officials say Wayne Seese jr. crashed his car on September 11th, and when police arrived to help, he climbed on the patrol car, jumped on an officer, and hit him in the face.

When police asked him why he did it, he allegedly told them that he had "taken a lot of cough syrup" and "God told him to do it."

He waived his preliminary hearing yesterday, and this morning he remains behind bars in the Somerset County Jail.
