PennDOT reduces speed limit on roadways across region

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. - PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit on several roadways across the region due to winter weather conditions.

 

Winter weather warnings, advisories issued; several inches of snow expected across region 

 

Speed limits have been reduced to 45 mph for the following roadways:

 

  • Interstate 70 in Bedford and Fulton Counties
  • Interstate 99 in Bedford and Blair Counties
  • Route 219 in Cambria and Somerset Counties
  • Route 22 in Blair and Cambria Counties
  • I-80 in Clearfield, Centre, and Clinton counties.
  • I-99 in Centre County.
  • Route 22/322 in Juniata, Mifflin, and Centre counties.

 

PennDOT crews are working to treat roads but urge drivers to avoid unnecessary travel. While the department treats the roads, the department’s main goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of snow and ice. Crews will continue to treat roads until the storm passes and roads are clear.

PennDOT also reminds motorists to pack an emergency kit with non-perishable foods, water, blankets, a small shovel and warm clothes.
