As tensions in Ukraine continue to escalate, a Ukrainian national living in our region is speaking out.
Lora Bobrova said she's scared. Her husband is currently living in the Eastern part of the Ukrainian country and she said everyone there is nervous they're next.
She said her husband is worried, but knows he can't do much about the situation.
Ukraine has been occupied and raided by Russia and Crimea has been annexed. Bobrova said as the Russians surround the country's borders, everyone in Southern and Eastern Ukraine are afraid they'll be next for takeover.
Ukrainians are getting ready for the worst.
Bobrova said it's scary watching a war unfold in her lifetime and has some strong words to say about Russia's President Vladimir Putin.
"It doesn't look like Putin cares about anybody's reaction, either from the West or the U.S. He does what he does and it looks like nobody can influence him," she said. "I'm very upset and frustrated and I hate Putin because he is an invader. He acts like Hitler, in fact."
