STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Penn State is facing a lawsuit from its former fencing coach. Emmanuil Kaidanov’s lawyer said he will file a lawsuit Thursday against the university, athletic director Dave Joyner and athletics integrity officer Julie Del Giorno.
Kaidanov is looking to be reinstated as head coach, compensatory damages, punitive damages, and any other appropriate relief.
He was fired from his job last summer after a confrontation with an administrative assistant after the person incorrectly reported a drug problem with an athlete.
The university did not say anything and cited personnel issues.
Kaidanov won 12 national championships and coached at Penn State for 30 years.
