UNIVERSITY PARK, CENTRE COUNTY – Penn State has added two Honda Civics to their transportation services fleet, but neither run on unleaded gas.

The Hondas, one silver and one blue, run on compressed natural gas, or CNG. Both of the cars have images of blades of green gas on the back.

The Office of Physical Plant has also switched to CNG vehicles. They now have 58 in their fleet.

According to the university, there are more than 12 million cars using CNG on the road today, 250,000 of those are in the U.S.
