According to a PennDOT release, 88 miles of I-80 will have their speed limits raised to 70 mph the week of August 11th. This stretch will be from DuBois (Exit 101) to Clinton County (Mile 189). In addition, 21 miles of I-380 in Lackawanna and Monroe Counties will see an increase to 70 mph.
Work zone speed limits in the 70 mph zones will be posted at 55 mph, and advisory speeds of 60-65 mph will be posted at curves.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike raised the speed limit to 70 mph between the Blue Mountain (Exit 201) and Morgantown (Exit 298) interchanges Tuesday.
The Turnpike’s 70 mph speed limit could be expanded to the entire toll road system in 2015.
