GALLITZIN, CAMBRIA COUNTY – The Cambria County District Attorney's office said that there is an open investigation into what happened to Favre the dog.
Chris and Renee Myers owned 15 year-old Favre and were on vacation.

The next door neighbor was watching the dog when a concerned neighbor called police.
Gallitzin police and an officer from the central p-a humane society responded and took the dog.
The officer who responded -- Paul Gottshall -- tells us the dog was emaciated, falling down and needed help.
The dog passed away while in the care of the humane society.
The dog owner's family has an attorney.
And the DA’s office says that attorney filed a private criminal complaint.
After looking over it, the DA’s office saw some aspects from the criminal complaint which prompted them to open an investigation.
No new charges have been filed.
