New U.S. citizen welcomed

Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pa. - Friday was a special day for a woman who moved from Poland to America back in the early 1990's. Iwona Dorabiala took the oath of allegiance to the United States, in a naturalization ceremony at the Blair County Courthouse.

She came to the U.S., so that her husband could get his doctorate at Notre Dame University. Now, he teaches at Penn State Altoona.

After the ceremony, she said, "I am very happy and relieved because it was a very long journey. So now,  I am a full citizen and it just makes me happy."

The new U.S. citizen was surprised by all of the attention she received at the ceremony, attended by all five Blair County judges, but said she appreciated the warm welcome.
