ATLANTA – NFL owners voted Tuesday for Minneapolis to host Super Bowl LII in February 2018, selecting the Twin Cities over New Orleans and Indianapolis.

The decision came in the fourth round of voting by a simple majority. Rules dictate a super majority of 75 percent of owners are required in the first three rounds.

The Minnesota Vikings’ new stadium will be completed in 2016. This will be the first time since 1992 Minneapolis has hosted the big game.

Indianapolis hosted the game once before in 2012 and New Orleans has hosted the game 10 times.

The game will be held in Glendale, Arizona in 2015, Santa Clara, California in 2016 and Houston in 2017.
