Naloxone available for first responders

Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pa. - The state is now accepting applications for naloxone kits for first responders. More than 60,000 kits will be made available  over a two-year period.

They'll  be allocated based on factors including county population, county opioid overdose deaths, and information from the state's prescription drug monitoring program. The state will designate a point of contact for each county or region to coordinate the distribution of the kits.

Kits could be made available as early as next month.
