Murder suspect asks judge to reconsider bail

Bellefonte, Centre County, Pa. - On Monday Matthew Dreibelbis asked a Centre County judge to reconsider giving him bail.

That request was denied.

Dreibelbis is accused of killing Jeremy Cantolina in Snow Shoe Township in early August.

According to court documents, Dreibelbis confessed to shooting the victim.

Officials learned over the past three and a half years Dreibelbis had been having an affair with Cantolina's wife and the two ended up having a child together.

About two years later, police said Dreibelbis waited at Cantolina's home that Friday morning when he was leaving for work and fired two shots, one of which killed Cantolina.

On Monday the Commonwealth said they need more time to prepare before trial.

The defense agreed, adding that there needed to be more time to look through discovery provided.

A lot of evidence is still being processed including finger prints and surveillance video from the victim's truck.

Meanwhile, the judge said it's best Dreiblebis remains behind bars.

Monday was the first of what the judge said could be many pre-trial conferences before anyone is prepared to go to trial.
